Piano Undergoing Weight Loss Program

Piano had been going to vet visits every 1 - 2 months...
always cost me a bomb without fail!
But her vet is really superb! So..it's worth spending that money...
She had UTI...which caused blood in her urination...
and plus the on and off skin problem and excessive hair loss...
And she's overweight!

She looks so cute right!?!?!
Lost nearly 1kg within a month..
and 2 more kg to go!!

So we can conclude that dogs look better when they lose excessive weight too!

Grrrr.....
look at her white teeth =)

She allowed my man to do this to her...
cos she's at the vet!
And she's always nervous there...her ears will tremble alot~!
I hope she will get well real real soon!

My kind of dry noodles...using my own method...

First I will create my sauce...
Sesame oil, vinegar and soya sauce are important roles in there!
Plus some dark soya sauce, and any chilli sauce/ketchup....

Mix it together with the cooked noodles...
I used thick beehoon and yellow mee....
Heavenly combination!

And lastly, top lots of ingredients on the mee!

I had fishcakes...

Tofu+tomato...

Fishballs and vegetables!!

Isn't it wonderful?
Not too sinful and definitely filling to last you for the whole afternoon!

Someday last week...

I was crazy and was craving for durian so much!!

So my parents went to buy!

7 durians for $20 only!

All the excited pple opening up the durians~~

My 1st consultation 2 weeks ago was really quite freaky...
to see my huge body!

See all the nice gowns...
I can only fit into a few =(

But lucky that I will be having made to measure wedding gown!
And I think that I've slimmed down 'abit'..because I don't look that big ytd..

this will be my photoshoot wedding gown
as it will be very rush if they start to make my MTM gown only now...
My photoshoot is in Sept~! 2 months more to lose weight!
and this is just nice for me to cover my big arms~!

I used the overnight wintermelon & mushroom soup as soup base....
And the ingredients are 2 kinds of veg + some yong tau foo...

The Mee is pretty good!!

Today,
I cooked this mee with water+some seasoning for my man's breakfast and lunch...
he said that it was yummy!

it's abit spicy...and quite special...

I thought phad thai should be like kway teow? HAHA..but why is it glass noodles?
Quite disappointed..~~But taste wise is good~~and prawn super crunchy!

Very small wings..cos they cut into small little pieces~

Vegetarian rice...
if there's brown rice, I will definitely opt for it...
so..it's always 2 veg + 1 tofu~~

Or yong tau foo soup with beehoon....

But why am I still not losing weight? HAHA!!!

Wrapping Babies...

I missed those times when Clara was being wrapped....

so..i wrapped her up ytd....

HEHEHE..she was so co-operative!!!

by right babies at the 4th month will not let pple do that to him/her...

perhaps the weather was really cold...so she loved it....

So comfortable that she fell asleep shortly....

and i put her on my body....

She slept so soundly....HAHA!

That's the advantage of having a big body!!

I went to my ex-colleague's house..

she's same age as my mummy..but surprisingly, we can click since 6 years ago~

She has this husky...his name is Hunter...

Same age as Piano...

I was scared of him initially, because he was quite rough...

he will stand up and greet me, and walk past me real fast...

his head and body will knock me, and it's quite a huge impact!

He sent me to the bus stop when i was leaving...

Nice dog!! My man loves huskies!

He will chase after bicycles and kids..HAHA..just wanna be friend..

he's really friendly!

Friendlier than our Piano!!

Guess what...I'm crazy...

because there's this 1 for 1 lunch promotion till end of June...

I kept going to Swensens with my friends and family..

And today is my 3rd time in this week...

I'm now writing about my 2nd visit...

My former music teacher treated me to lunch~~

And this is for the little cutie....

so cheeky! and amazingly that he finished the whole plate of food!

This is my 2nd time meeting him....

I find him so cute that I can't stop disturbing him~~

and at the end of the lunch session, he found me irritating~~~

even when i wanna touch his hair, he will shout..NO!

HAHAHA~~ And kept doing that once I go near him...

Woohoo...My house just started to undergo reno 1 week+ ago....
Some of you may have seen my facebook status saying that...
While the workers were dismantling the old kitchen cabinets,
about 50 cockroaches ran for their lives everywhere!
And so did the workers! They freaked out~~
Lucky I was not there..HEHEHE...
I hope this problem will end here!!

My Daddy frequents this xing hua stall....

it's @ race course road, in a kopitiam...

All staffs are from China...they talk really loudly! Like gona have a fight anytime soon~~Scary~~

and if you want a table, got to reach really early.
It's usually fullhouse!

abit oily...as u know their cooking habit is to add lots of oil~~

2010 Expo Food Fair!

These are the doors to the fatness heaven...HAHA!

Ytd was the last day of the food fair @ Expo~
My mummy was so tempted to go, as her sisters told her lots of yummy stuffs after buying lots of food there!

So in the end I went at night, with my Daddy and Mummy
super crowded, and everyone was like some "hungry ghost"
including us =)

I tried a few samples, and spent all my money in less than 20mins time!

these were the proof of our greediness!
Our hands were all filled with bags and absolutely tired!
and some food were not in this picture! Imagine how much we bought... =p

This is a box of Taiwan smelly tofu!

We were so disappointed...
it's not nice at all...
not much taste too~ just like some random tofu which had turned bad...
$2.50 per box and i bought 3 boxes!! *puke*
I guess we can't get authentic smelly tofu in spore?

you must be wondering what is this...
It's actually an uncooked mixture of a few types mushrooms, lotus roots and bamboo shoots...
Quite disgusting...because they just dump it inside the plastic bag.yucks!

My mum wanted to try it straight away.
so she stir fried them with some garlic and black pepper...
the green sticks in there were crunchy! and nice to bite on!
But I don't know what's that?

6 dumplings for $5!

I bought lots of biscuits for my man and in laws...
the whole table was filled with food!!!!

Instant Spinach 刀削面

HEHE! I changed the layout of this blog,

Today is Vesak Day~ A holiday for most of the people!
Didn't wanna eat out for lunch,
so decided to have a quick meal~

Bought this Spinach 刀削面 from Sheng Shiong,
it's quite cheap, 3 packets for $2++..
and they claimed that there's no preservatives..

To make the process faster....
I used the overnight lotus root soup for my soup base....
And just add some veggies to it....

This is how the noodles look like b4 cooking...

Boil the ingredients together and this is what you get....

I love lotus roots!!
My mum doesn't cook it due to religious purpose...
but my mother in law will make this soup from time to time,
and I will gobble up all the lotus roots!

Yum Yum Yum!!

The noodle is nice and tasted like instant udon...
abit sour.Don't know why...
maybe you guys can try it out~!
they have other varieties too~ will cook and post up soon!

Lost 2 kilos~~

Hi hi!
sorry for not updating that much now...

I've started to control my diet...
Not to the extreme,
but try to have more regular meals and not so heavy for each meal....

And i actually lost about 2 kilos after these few days~
I guess it's the food weight...

and my glucose level was 8.8 4 days ago!!
Scary right?
but today, it went down to 6.2....

So it's not bad~! Way to go~~~~~~

These few months, I have been indulging in food...
although not eating mammals for 95% of my meals,
I will eat all kinds of rubbish...like..
fried carrot cake, some biscuits, chips, icy stuffs...
it doesn't contain meat but it's harming my body~~

I really regret doing that...my health is showing me some signs...
telling me that I have to stop it....
Especially my women problem =(

So..i will seriously stop all these..
and think twice b4 stuffing food into my mouth...

Hope everything will get better...

Use Marks and Spencers Minestrone soup!

I cooked this organic udon in another pot...

when it's done, add them into the minestrone soup in another pot and bring to boil....

Sprinkle some black pepper~~
and good to go!!

I used to buy canned soups from Marks & Spencers..and stopped..
because the taste is actually not really rich...

Now that they are having this range of new recipe soups...
I bought 3 cans to try~

My man's favourite...

Now he can walk on his own!

To learn some tricks and he can cook for me in our new home...

and after eating them, I had diarrhea..

we were free...
and went to Ang Mo Kio Hub for a walk~
we seldom have the chance to be together in the afternoon...
so rare...

we walked around and till dinner time..
walked into a cafe called Gurney Drive...
This road sounds familiar to me..but I don't know exactly where it is..
after goggling about it...actually it's...
a popular seafront promenade in Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia..

anyway this taste about the same as my mother in law's... =)

After the big Hoo Haa and the long wait...
we finally got our keys!!
you may be thinking that the wait for this house is only 5 months...
but the total years we've been trying to get a house is definitely longer
than the duration of Japanese occupation!!

Last Friday...
I managed to meet my friend..whom I knew for nearly 10 years...
We had dinner...at liang court...
and followed by snacks and coffee at Mc cafe..

Our Caramel Mochacinno...looks nice...
way too sweet...but it's definitely a good "therapy" for my lousy mood

when I'm stressed out, will tend to crave for fried starch..
like potato chips and french fries!
HAHA!

We went to mustafa at midnight to do a late night shopping..
the feeling was great! really enjoyed myself...

A Visit to the Vet..

With trembling ears...Piano is waiting for her turn to see her vet...

Busybody! looking at other dogs..hahaha...

looking at the dogs outside....

the tired me...i cried buckets..look at my swollen eyes...
and having a headache...
but glad that everything is over now...!

She behaved really well during the consultation!
did not bite the vet and nurses...
I'm so proud of her...

had xrays and some examination...
they suspected that she's having Urinary Tract Infection...
lucky it's not something fatal... =)

by the way, the monetary damage made was quite huge...
A visit to the vet = $422!
I can buy a washing machine with that price!
But it's worth it...the vet is extremely experienced...
and i know Piano is in good hands =)

Quite a number of stuffs happened these few days...
1st - seller of the house wanna back out from the transaction which is nearly complete..
and said refuse to turn up for completion....

2nd-piano peed blood..and we brought her to the vet the next day..
guess how much it costs?
$422!
but if she can get well..i'm willing to pay..
will continue to monitor her...and she has lots of medications to take!

I had a big cry yesterday in the wee hours...I don't wanna lose piano so soon...
I can't control and cried so loudly...
the last time when I lost control of myself was when my granddad died...

So many emotions just flowed up after all these incidents...
I just want a house...
is it that hard to get??

Glad that I'm feeling better now...
Piano is more important than any external issues...
so i hope that everyone around me will be in the pink of health!

My sister's pregnancy seemed to be like a fast one...

Today is my man turns 3 3 years old!
I don't have any special present for him nor sweet words..

In the wee hours about 4am...
Soundly asleep...
and guess what I heard which made me jumped right up!?

MY MAN'S LAUGHTER!!!!!!!
It sounds so crafty and sly....and he even covered his mouth...
MY GOODNESS....
I was so so so so afraid and my whole body went stiff...
I don't know what happened to him...
as the laughter was loud and in high pitch...It made my hair stand...
He doesn't laugh like this!

I picked up all my courage to lift up my hand...
and shook him continuously....tried my best to wake him up...
he stopped laughing...but seemed like he's not that awake still...

HAHA! what will you do if this happens to someone sleeping beside u?
My mummy said that she will run away straight away!

I think I'm considered as BRAVE... WAHAHAHA!!!

What Kind of Vegetarian Am I?

There are many kinds of vegetarians in the world...
And I decided to be a...
PESCO-VEGETARIAN....for the time being...
who actually
eats fish and non-mammalian seafood but does not eat any other meats.
and i take dairy products too~~

I can live with just tofu, veg, grains & beans ...
but when I need to dine out for gatherings,
I will still take fish and seafood...
I do not take mock meats...they are just extra carbo to me, and since I don't wanna munch on mammals then why do I want to fantasize about chewing on their meat to satify myself??

So for now...I do not eat beef, mutton, pork, duck or chicken...
People might think that I'm contradicting myself as fish have blood and bones like us...
and they hurt too!
but who knows I may even take fish and seafood out of my life soon?
I just don't want to push myself that far for a start...it's just a transition stage...
if I were to just switch suddenly, my plans may backfire in the end...

it's been nearly a week and I'm doing fine...
feeling healthier and more clear minded!

I think by this way, i can save
lets say 100 chickens and ducks per year by not eating their drumsticks, thighs and wings~
a few pigs...and a few lambs + cows...
I'm doing all these for our loyal friends...

Toys for Babies

We knew that UU will be coming over to our place...
and we bought a toy for him...

It's from kiddy palace..and it's cheap..about $8.90

the little baby who is forever interested in his toys...

he don't get sick of them....

and he will just laugh in the midst of playing on his own...

he loves to play with the toy that we've bought for him too...
when u ask him where is banana or strawberry,
he will actually press the fruit!
So clever right!?
he's just 14months+...

unfortunately...the toy didn't last for even 1 hour...
it broke down! HA! So fast!
so we went back to exchange for another toy~~

it's me trying to disturb him..HEHEHE...

let him play with our pomelo~~ =)

I received this booklet...and it totally amused me...

Animal killing....
just because human wants to eat them... =(

They electrify the poor piggies and slaughter them...
cut the cow's throat and let it bleed....
hang the chickens up by their legs and lower them down into electric water...

They have this free DVD in the booklet...
but I don't dare to look at it...i know it will be gross...

I've been wanting to go meat free for such a long time...
it's such a shame that my determination was not strong enough...

I've started to go vegan 2 days ago...
but I still take those diary products...

but I find that sometimes it's hard to avoid as my family takes meat...
so I will still drink the soup which contains meat...
but..not munch on the meat...
I mean i tried my best to save them by not eating them..
when i move over to my new house, it will be a good start for me! =)

my sister's bf's family bought this from malaysia as their dialect is 福州...

Have you ever seen this b4?
not me...
its crispy and dry...breaks easily....

I used this to cook for our lunch~~

here some of the ingredients I've found in the fridge...
long beans, shitake mushrooms, fishballs....
I know it's very weird to use long beans...
but I don't have any other veg, and I can't do without veg...

so it took about 10 mins to cook a meal for 3~~

and I used the overnight ABC soup for my soup base....

Yummy!
HAHA!
my brother said that it's the same as kway zap..
but i don't think so..i feel that the texture is more like super thin mee hun gui!
we still have abit left...
and I'm going to cook it again!
maybe the dry style!? =)

Why are there so many bugs!?

I have no idea..why does the kitchen have so many bugs?
there's bugs in my flour...and now...even all the grains... =(

My favourite 8 treasures grain...filled with creepy crawlers...
it's very Q and fragrant!! I wanted to use these to cook porridge for ytd's dinner!

but sad to say..i got to throw them away...too many of them..disgusting
i found these bugs in my japanese grain too!!
ARGH!!
I won't allow this to happen in my new home!

Udon in an Italian Way!

Have u tried mixing udon and spaghetti's sauce b4?
I was trying to look for some spaghetti or pasta, but i couldn't find it~~
So..i had this idea to use my udon! =)
that's a meal for one!

very simple ingredients that you'll need...no oil involved~!
Button mushrooms, a tomato and Udon...
as for seasoning..just some black pepper and a packet of Ketchup!

My way of doing it:
1. Cut the tomato into to half, one for dicing and the other for blending which will be the sauce
2. Slice the button mushrooms.
3. Cook the udon in boiling water, meanwhile you can heat up the blended tomato sauce. Just add in the mushrooms & diced tomatoes.
4. Toss udon into the mushroom sauce. Sprinkle black pepper.
5. Let it simmer for just a minute, remember not to overcook the mushrooms and udon.
6. Off the stove fire & mix the packet of ketchup in. If you feel that it's not salty enough, a pinch of salt can be sprinkled into the sauce. If you want more flavour & aroma, just sprinkle some herbs like oregano..
7. Lastly, serve.... !

And here u go!

A meal in less than 20 minutes!
Nonetheless, it's healthy! and it will be even better if you omit the packet of ketchup.

The Udon's texture is a little bit like spaghetti!

And there's some chewiness in it!

And i love mushrooms!

Any kind of mushroom will be good for me!

Hope my readers will find my recipe easy to follow =)

Why bother to buy store bought pasta sauces when u can make it on your on in such a short time... Try it!

Finally,
today is our 1st HDB appt!!!!
and i got to wait for another 8 weeks for 2nd appt...to finalise everything + get keys!

After reno and furnishing,
it will be probably June!

I cannot believe it, i can only get to stay in a house after 7 months upon purchase!!
It's not as if like I'm staying in a house made of GOLD...
Argh!! Frustrated!!

I've been complaining about this,
but there's nothing that I can do..

6th March! Clara's birthday!
My sister finally ave birth after a long wait in the hospital...
giving birth is never easy..and she is still weak now...
nearly fainted in the toilet! Scary situation!
So I am staying with her overnight...

Everything started from Friday morning...
we were all so anxious!

And Clara actually decided to arrive by the help of the doctor's forceps!

White White..Bloody Bloody~~

She's 2.5kg! Gynae estimated her to be 2.2kg..
lucky she was bigger!

After cleaning up...she looks like a sweet demure baby girl to me =)
I can't enough!!

Happy happy!!

Chinese new year is around the corner!!
Time really flies..
baking time again..
and this year is a super hectic one...
I got to juggle with my time...
my eyes are going to close now...

And guess what...
when I was making my 3rd kind of cookie just now...
something happened...

after creaming one whole block of butter...
i reached out for the cocoa powder..
And i heard Zzzz Zzzz Zzzz from the container..
YICKS!!!!! There's so many bugs in there!!!
& it smells totally like cockroaches!!!
MY GOODNESS...!!
i quickly closed then dump it...
thinking that i can just omit that and use self raising flour alone...

And while i was sieving the flour..OH MY GOODNESS AGAIN..!!!
There are so many eggs of the bugs!!!
All So yucky!!
The expiry date is actually near to 1 year later!
=( so unlucky! And wasted my ingredients!

But luckily I have enough ingredients..
So i proceeded with another recipe...
and finally completed my CNY Baking..

My First Student's Recital & Jangshou BBQ

This is the first time for me to organise a recital for my students...
I spent quite alot of money and alot of effort on it...
Hoping that my students can enjoy themselves!
Thanks to all those who helped me out...and attended the recital =)

While my student was rehearsing, these 2 fellows played a fool...

The recital is about to start..and they are performing the first item!
Starting to feel the "TENSION"...

Performed 城里的月光 as the theme for the recital is Movie/Tv Show Songs...

The audiences actually enjoyed their music! =) Great job!

My first student to perform...

Just turned 5 and started to learn piano few months ago...
Small kid with a gigantic piano always looks so cute!

so b4 we stop...
we drank this kelp soup..very very yummy!

If you do eat beef...it will be worth it!

Korean Ricecake + Black & White Sesame Layered Kueh

Hi my dear readers! I'm back!

Last Sunday...we decided to have a simple dinner...

Korean ricecake with Baicai and hotdog..

I used the same hot pepper paste as the bibimbap..
so actually the paste comes into good use!
one tub is gona finish soon~~

And this is our dessert...
the black and white sesame layered kueh

got the recipe from the newspaper....
but the recipe is not so easy to read...it's rather subjective...
the consistency of the batter must be altered by mixing more water without any measurements...
so i was unsure whether this will succeed initially...
glad that it turned out quite well and fragrant...
anyone wants the recipe?
If yes, I got to translate =)
